Summary: An accident concerning a yacht hitting a bridge in Miami reveals a mystery, when it's discovered the man at the helm was shot moments before the boat slammed into the bridge. An investigation uncovers a kidnapping and ransom plot involving the victim's son and in fact the dead man was on his way to pay off the kidnappers with 3 million dollars worth of jewels. Details are uncovered that the jewels were fake and that the team may be in danger, or even killed.

MISTAKES/GOOFS

FAKE: When the bridge is breaking apart, there is obviously no rebar (metal reinforcing rods) in and between the concrete chucks as they fall away. Rebar in concrete is used to prevent this very type of disaster and the bridge would never have been built without it. In 1988, a section of the Oakland Bay Bridge fell because it lost support on one end, but didn't break apart as seen here.
CHAR: Horatio states the Mercedes S-class has a wheelbase of 62 inches. In fact according to the Mercedes-Benz USA web site the S-class actually has a wheelbase of 121.5 inches. It does however have a 62 in track.

TRIVIA

SPOILER: In the episode #3.1, "Lost Son" the last episode to feature Rory Cochrane), the opening credits sequence had all the principal cast members in order to confuse spoilers as to who was actually killed off.
