Back from ep 2. I am really looking forward to this series now. Okay, the "Terminator" is 6 people and they don't look as good (with the given exception of Lexa Doig). And the "Good Guy" is a "Good Gal" and she does look good. And they travel back in time to change the past in order to change the future BUT ..... this time the "Good Girl" gets to keep her futuristic "toys" (weapons, surveillance, computer etc.). Now how cool is that if you are a Science Fiction fan and Crime/Cop-story fan ? Yes. CONTINUUM is definitely to watch (out for). The first 2 epsidodes come across much better than TSCC ever did. Just as TSCC had the problem that the "invincible" Terminators were killed in every episode, Continuum may have the problem, that the bad guys keep getting away because they are the only chance for all of them to return home (to "their" time). It is going to be interesting if the suspense can be kept up. I look foward to the rest of the season. A definite MUST if this is your style. - - - - 10 episodes = first season later I am still excited but a bit more sober. The end, because it had been hinted at was only a little surprise. The romance we had all expected didn't - let's say - happen the way we expected. Needless to say, the bad guys were not caught (where would that leave season 2?) and history wasn't changed (as far as we know - but .... where would that leave season 2?). The question we have now is: will the black-clad superhero (no, not Batgirl --> watch ep. 10, then you'll know) return. I certainly hope so, although I have my doubtd. I like SF. I like crime-series. I like cop-series. I like her techno-toys. I was entertained and didn't see the little glitches. The red thread got reeeeeally thin sometimes but I do not care. I say: give me a future not to look forward to --> let Keira continuum. |

A new show with great potential. I have seen two episodes and I am hooked. The lead character is every man's fantasy of the perfect woman...strong, confident, furiously committed to getting her life back, but willing (and able) to perform her role as a "protector". I do wish sci-fi writers would find a different villain than the "evil corporations", but in our current political climate...we have a feeding frenzy..."All corporations are evil..... It is simply the back drop the story and characters are well written and acted. I look forward to the Continuum... |

I just watched the pilot, which was in fact quite good. I recommend that you at least watch the pilot, it is worth it. The show starts out in 2077, where we quickly learn that corporations have taken over the world and abolished democracy. A 'terrorist' group is fighting for liberty, but seemingly, they failed. Moreover, just before the execution of the terrorist leaders they manage to escape back in to the past. They were aiming for 2071, but ended up in 2012. Accidentally an agent from 2077 also is sucked into the past. Her aim is to track down and stop the terrorists in 2012. |
