12-year-old Corky has been adopted by a travelling circus owned by Big Tim Champion (His parents,a high wire act) were killed in an accident. As part of his chores he is water boy to baby elephant Bimbo who he treats as and becomes friends with. Corky also participates (where he can) in the behind-the-scenes life of the circus and is friends with other animals as well.
