Summary: In San Francisco, the three vastly different Halliwell sisters are reunited in the grand Victorian home of their childhood: Prue, the oldest, is driven to succeed and dislikes the free-spirited antics of the youngest sister Phoebe. Piper, the earthy middle sister, mediates between her siblings. Phoebe discovers The Book of Shadows in the attic and their witchly powers are activated, igniting a bond that reaches beyond petty, sisterly grudges. Prue has the power to move objects, Piper to freeze time and Phoebe to see the future. The sisters must band together to battle dark forces of the supernatural world. Keeping their powers secret could prove a challenge, since Inspector Andy Trudeau, Prue's ex, is closing in on a serial killer preying on local witches. Piper narrowly escapes death when she discovers her white-bread boyfriend Jeremy, an evil warlock, is the killer. Sparks fly when the sisters try their first spell -- Jeremy is vanquished, and they discover the power of three.

MISTAKES/GOOFS

CONT: In the bar, Prue transfers cream from the creamer magically without the cream being poured into her cup which is the way her powers worked throughout the series.
CONT: Prue is seen picking up a newspaper and we see part of the headline which has a photo next to it. As the scene progresses and different shots were used, the paper switches back and forth from the headline with a photo to the other side of the folded newspaper.
CONT: Piper closes the box after she hands Jeremy his fortune cookie but in the next shot, it's still open.
FAKE: When Phoebe looks in the mirror, Alyssa Milano's tattoo is visible which was covered up by make-up the first season.
CONT: The establishing shot of the Halliwell house shows Piper going in the door with a black umbrella with a white stripe around the outer edge. The next shot, from the interior, shows her hanging up a black umbrella with a floral print. This happened because the establishing shot comes from the original, unaired pilot but the interior scene was re-shot.

TRIVIA

Phoebe is the first Charmed One to cast a spell and save an innocent, while Prue is the first one to use her powers (on Roger's pen).
Actress Holly Marie Combs is the only actress left from the original casting that has appeared in every episode filmed. The original unaired Pilot was filmed with Lori Rom playing the part of Phoebe Halliwell.
Ted King (II) replaced Chris Boyd (I) in the role of Inspector Andy Trudeau.
In the pilot, toward the end of the show, Shannen Doherty picks up a newspaper from the sidewalk. The newspaper headline reads "Firemen Doubt Fire was Accidental", the same newspaper prop used in Mrs. Doubtfire (1993), giving Robin Williams (I)'s character the idea for the name "Mrs. Doubtfire".
Alyssa Milano replaced Lori Rom in the role of Phoebe Halliwell.
