Summary: While investigating the death of an Irish mobster, Beckett and Castle uncover a local turf war that may be connected to both a late-night infomercial guru and an international drug smuggling operation. But the case turns agonizingly personal when evidence emerges that the killer they're chasing may have had a hand in Beckett's mother's murder.

Mistakes/Goofs

Goof (plot holes): It is mentioned repeatedly that no one knows what "Rathborne" looks like. But Coonan has already said he was in the service with Rathborne; U.S. Armed Services records include photos, which the NYPD can request.
Goof (continuity error): When Beckett is drinking coffee in the break room talking to Castle about how she let her mother down, in the close ups, she's holding the mug by the handle, but in the wide shots, she is holding it by the bottom.
Goof (continuity error): When Coonan has Castle at gunpoint, Castle's jacket goes from being totally on both shoulders to hanging off the right shoulder and rumpled between shots.
Goof (continuity error): In interrogation, Trucho puts the ice pack to his eye twice with no time to put it down between.
Goof (continuity error): When Montgomery calls Beckett into his office and offers her his "poor man's painkiller," you can see her open the flask and take a drink as the camera focuses past her on Montgomery. The camera then immediately changes angles to view her from the front, and she can be seen opening the flask again and drinking from it, though she had no time to lower her hand or close the flask.

Trivia

This is the first episode where Castle calls Beckett by her first name, Kate.
