Tenuously based on a real life story linked by some character names and the "Cannonball Express". Written in a children's format thus a gentler western series not like violent adult shows of the time eg.The Virginian. However it did feature the same classical types of plots as other westerns such as train robbers, vandals, etc;. The series theme song was a version of the "Ballad of Casey Jones".
