The first episode in the Care Bear television series from the Canadian studio, Nelvana. Before this and Care Bears Movie II: A New Generation (1986) - and soon after The Care Bears Movie (1985) - DiC Entertainment produced 22 fifteen-minute adventures featuring the Bears and (in later episodes) the Cousins.
Introduces the villainous duo of Wizard No Heart and his apprentice, Beastly, for the first time in the Care Bears franchise.
One of only five episodes to feature Noble Heart Horse, a rarely-seen Care Bear Cousin.
The entire Nelvana series (starting with this episode) serves as a sequel to Care Bears Movie II: A New Generation (1986).
