MISTAKES/GOOFS
- CONT: If they cannot speak they shouldn't be able to gasp audibly or grumble in the morning, which they did.
- CONT: Spike gets a brimming full cup of blood from the fridge, but when he lifts it to his mouth and drinks, it is clearly almost empty.
- CREW: As the Gentlemen float along the dormitory hallways at 24:37 and 24:48, and again at 33:16, on the ceiling above them you can see part of the rigging from which they are suspended.
- CREW: At 24:24, as the Gentlemen glide through the U.C. Sunnydale campus, you can see the rolling platform they are standing on.
- CREW: At 22:46, in the wide side-view of the Gentlemen floating down the street, if you look closely you can see traces of the wires used to suspend them showing against the upper floors of the buildings in the background, and in the following shot the wires suspending the two Gentlemen floating in the distance are similarly visible against the roof at the right of the clock tower.
TRIVIA
- Joss Whedon claimed he wrote this episode as a challenge to himself. Critics had hailed him for his deft use of banter and witty wordplay, so he decided to see if he was a good enough writer to craft an episode which was largely lacking any dialog at all.
- This was the episode with introduced Amber Benson (I), playing Tara Maclay, to the show. Although urban legend has it that Benson played an uncredited part in Season Three's "Dopplegangland," that is incorrect. This is her first appearance on the show. She was originally passed over for the part by Joss Whedon because she did not fit his mental image of what Tara should look and act like, but Marti Noxon convinced Whedon to give Benson another reading, and she so impressed him, he decided to retool the character to fit the actress.
- Andy Hallett (Lorne on "Angel" (1999)) can be seen in the top left corner of Professor Walsh's classroom.
