MISTAKES/GOOFS

CONT: Buffy and Willow are studying French and their notes are all over the table before they go to dance. However when Xander runs in to collect a stake from Buffy's bag later, all the notes are gone.
CONT: Buffy and Cordelia are talking about Buffy's mother and Cordelia's arms switch from being crossed from the front view and against her hips when she is shown from behind and back again in every shot.
FAKE: Vampires don't have reflections. But in this episode, as Spike walks down the school hallway (29:22 on the DVD), we see his reflection in a glass case to his left (the viewer's right).
FAKE: When Drusilla is first introduced she cuts Spike on his cheek using her fingernail leaving a trail of blood. The tube through which the blood comes out is visible.
FAKE: When Spike throws Collin in the cage at the end of the episode, it's obvious he's throwing an adult stunt double down and not a 10 year old boy.

TRIVIA

Spike, was originally intended to last for a few episodes into the Second Season. However, his character was immediately embraced and loved by Buffy fans, which resulted in Joss Whedon's decision to keep him in the series.
In the original script, Spike's car was intended to be a Cadillac. In reality, it is a Desoto Sportsman, California license plate number HIA-873.
Juliet Landau didn't have to audition for the part of Drusilla. Joss Whedon had been very taken by her performance in Ed Wood (1994) that she was offered the part within an hour of meeting with Whedon.
SPOILER: Joss Whedon said the main reason the writers killed off the Anointed One was because the young actor's voice had begun to change, and a vampire doesn't age after "dying".
