Buffy the Vampire Slayer - 01x02 The Harvest (2)

Summary: Buffy goes to the aid of her new friends, but she is unable to save Jesse, who is taken hostage by the vampires. At this point, Buffy is no longer fighting her destiny and takes responsibility as the Slayer. Giles decides to let Xander and Willow in on Buffy's little secret, since they are now involved. Buffy informs Giles about her encounter with Angel and his mention of the Harvest. Upon researching, Giles discovers that the Harvest is a feeding ritual which is supposed to open the gates of Hell. Unless Buffy and her new friends can stop it, innocent people will die, and The Master will be released from his underground prison and once again walk the Earth.

MISTAKES/GOOFS

CONT: Luke feeds on several people on stage at the Bronze, then lets them fall lifeless to the floor. Yet after Buffy kills Luke, an overhead shot of the stage area shows no bodies lying on the floor.
PLOT: Buffy is looking for Jesse in a mausoleum when Angel appears behind her, bathed in sunlight.
CONT: When Harmony asks Cordelia if they are going to the Bronze, she says it's Friday and there is no cover. But when Darla and the vampires go there later, we see the bouncer counting money.

TRIVIA

The pilot episode, "Welcome to the Hellmouth/The Harvest," ends with Buffy, Willow, and Xander joking about the possible ways Buffy could get kicked out of school, and Giles sighing, "The Earth is doomed." The last episode, "The Chosen," contains a scene near the end where the three kids plan a trip to the mall and Giles sighs, "The Earth is definitely doomed."
