Comedians Dave Chappelle and Jim Breuer made a guest appearance in a March,1995 episode of Home Improvement (the storyline had Chappelle and Breuer appear on Tool Time to ask Tim Taylor advice on their girlfriends). This led to Buddies. Jim Breuer was replaced with Christopher Gartin as Dave Chappelle's "buddy." Two friends decide to start up a film company and the problems that develop.
