The character of Topanga debuts, played by Danielle Fishel. She was never supposed to have that role. In that episode, there were two classmates who were giving a presentation in class. One of them was Marla Sokoloff and the other was a blonde girl named Megan Parlen. Danielle was supposed to be Megan's role, but producer Michael Jacobs was so impressed with her that he gave her the role of Topanga the night before shooting the episode. She became a regular character during Episode 8.
Topanga says that her mother's name is Chloe. However, in later episodes her mother's name is Rhiannon.
