Summary: The Maximals are at their base happy at their apparent victory over the Predacons. While, the Predacons are in hiding after their base was completely obliterated. They are now searching for Tarantulas’ lair and have been successful in this endeavor. The Predacons have found a secret part of the cave with a submersible. Megatron finally thinks he knows what Tarantulas has been doing for some time now and they take the submersible down before Maximals are able to get there to stop them.

CONT: When Optimus is reading the Covenant of Primus, behind him Transmetal Cheetor is carrying a crate. By now however, he was in his Transmetal 2 form.

TRIVIA

"Nemesis" is the series' finale. It was planned to be a three episodes long, but was compressed to a two-parter.
SPOILER: The suicidal action of Depth Charge to obliterate Rampage is the only time in the entire series that a Maximal kills a Predacon.
SPOILER: When Dinobot II screams after Rampage's death, brief flashes of the original Dinobot can be seen as he looks upward. The key to understanding this scene can be found in "Dark Glass," a episode where Rattrap discover Dinobot's personality program, and embarks on a suicide mission to download the program into Dinobot II to revive the Maximal warrior (succeeding, but without any effect). The story, while planned, was deemed too dark for young viewers and was never made into an episode. However, it has been accepted as part of the "Beast Wars" saga and explains how Dinobot II starts to retain traits of his predecessor.
An injured Silverbolt claims "'Tis but a scratch," and his arm falls off. This is a reference to Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975), where the same thing occurred with the Black Knight. Both Silverbolt and the Black Knight can be seen as medieval chivalrous knights.
Inferno calls Rampage a drone in this episode. A drone is a male ant whose main purpose is to mate with the queen ant to provide offspring. Given Inferno's beast mode (a fire ant) and the fact that he refers to Megatron as "the royalty," this would probably be a perverse insult.
