A small independent unit lead by Maj. Adam Steiner fights their way to their home planet of Somerset when news of an army of mysterious invaders calling themselves the Clans begin to conquer world after world in their ultimate goal to take Terra. The First Somerset Strikers are assigned to take the fight to the Clans. All the while being pursued by an Clan Jade Falcon warrior Nicholai Malthus.

    Episode 6 "Protect and Survive" suffers from the above mentioned Battlemech limitations, changing Prince Victor's 'Mech from the Victor-class he was named after to a Mauler, and Galen Cox's Crusader to a Centurion. The latter is understandable, as at the time, Battletech's creators, FASA Corporation, were in legal entanglements with Harmony Gold, the creators of "Robotech" (1985) due to the use of several 'Mech designs borrowed from "Chôjikû yôsai Macross" (1982), one of the source shows in Robotech.
