Summary: As the process of refining the fleet's tyluim becomes difficult, the pressure is put on the workers to keep maintenance, while they in turn simply want better working conditions. A book written by Baltar and smuggled out into the fleet helps to tighten this tension in the "knuckle draggers" who feel they are being treated like a lower class.

TRIVIA

Scenes aboard the tillium refinery ship were actually filmed at a sugar mill. The tillium shown in the episode -- including what's in the vast blimp-hangar-like room that's nearly empty, and the stuff dumped onto the conveyor belt -- is actually raw, coarse, unrefined sugar.
