Episode Quotes

Batgirl: No need to change clothes, Penguin, they'll issue you a nice striped wardrobe where you're going.
The Penguin: Fah! Armband, Visor, bridle that filly!
Bruce Wayne: [on phone, talking about a recently recovered priceless folio] Yes, Alfred tells me that Batman returned it just a few minutes ago, Miss Gordon.
Barbara Gordon: [on other line] Well that's incredible! Batman said he'd have it back within an hour, but...
Bruce Wayne: You didn't believe him?
Barbara Gordon: Well, I'm afraid I'm still naive enough to believe the impossible can't be done. I guess I owe Batman an apology.
Bruce Wayne: A word of thanks should do, at the proper time.
Racing Secretary: [on phone with Bruce Wayne] I demand that the Wayne Foundation memorial handicap be canceled this afternoon.
Bruce Wayne: [on other line] Oh, you do?
Racing Secretary: Yes, as racing secretary of this meet I have a duty to the owners, trainers, officials and, and, and trackfans and myself. Why, if there were any logical explanation for such a travesty. If Batman for instance told me that this race must be run for a particular reason, well, that might be different. But just to satisfy a stubborn whim of your own, Mr. Wayne, as honorable a man as I know you are.
Bruce Wayne: And suppose Batman did tell you that the race must be run?
Racing Secretary: I would have to hear it from him in person. [hangs up]

Trivia

  • The title is based on the expression: That's a horse of a different color. This was a major humorous scene after Dorothy and her companions enter Emerald City in the MGM version of The Wizard of Oz.
  • Yvonne Craig talked the producers into letting her do her own horseback riding as Batgirl. She quickly changed her mind, however, when she saw the large, fierce horse. A male jockey doubled the scene for her.
