Summary: The citizens of Babylon 5 are leaving in droves since the martial law was put in place on the station. Things are getting hairy and few wants to be around when bad goes to worse. The Narns are helping out handling the security and don't miss an opportunity to make Londo's life a misery. Renegade ships fighting the current government finds their way to Babylon 5. Sheridan must decide on how to allow them on the station, without the Earth government finding out. Earth troups are finding themselves fighting eachother, they know everyone they kill and it's taking its toll on everybody. A seriously injured ranger is smuggled into the medical bay and he reports that the Shadows are moving, with many allies.

MISTAKES/GOOFS

CHAR: SPOILER: Near the end of the space battle scene, the Earth-loyal destroyer Agrippa (her name is clearly visible in several shots) is hit by weapons fire from both the rebellious Alexander and Babylon 5, and begins to burn uncontrollably. Captain Sheridan radios the ship and offers to take survivors, but mistakenly addresses her as the Roanoke, a destroyer which fell earlier in the battle. (This is an understandable error due to the stress he is under, but an error nonetheless.)

TRIVIA

Because of the accident in which he broke his arm and wrist, Jerry Doyle (I) refers to this episode as "Severed Limbs".
The scene where Delenn (Mira Furlan) snaps the Grey Council staff in two had to be shot several times because, try as she might, Mira couldn't break it. The staff finally had to be sawed partially in half by a stage hand.
Producer J. Michael Straczynski met Everett McGill at a restaurant, and later decided to use him in the episode "Severed Dreams", but couldn't remember his first name. He told the casting director to get "that McGill guy". On the day of shooting, Straczynski found Bruce McGill waiting on the set. There was no time to correct the mistake, so Bruce McGill was used.
Jerry Doyle (I) broke his arm for real during the filming of one of the battle scenes. Unfortunately the scene showing him with a broken ankle was filmed before the accident and later episodes ignored the broken ankle and show Jerry with an arm cast, explaining that this was the injury sustained in the fight.
