Airwolf is the most advanced helicopter in the world. The series starts with the helicopter’s creator stealing it. The Firm hires Stringfellow Hawke to recover the helicopter. Hawke is successful but refuses to turn it over until his brother is rescued from Vietnam. meanwhile he reluctantly flies missions for The Firm. Helping him is the Firm's contact Archangel and mechanic Dominic Santini.

- After the show was canceled the chopper was sold to a German firm. Airwolf - as a Bell 222 - flew as an air ambulance. On 9 June 1992 it crashed during a thunderstorm, killing all three crew members.
- In order for Airwolf to fly with it's weapons deployed, they needed special permission from the FAA. Even though they were props, the FAA insisted on it.
