Season 5 Quotes

05x23 - Keeping Tabs Season 5 / Episode 23: - Keeping Tabs

Sgt. MacDonald: Whatever we did, he understood. It was natural.
Officer Peter J. Malloy: He's growing up, Mac.
Sgt. MacDonald: I know. I think that's where I've had the most trouble adjusting.
05x23 - Keeping Tabs Season 5 / Episode 23: - Keeping Tabs

Officer Peter J. Malloy: It really wasn't that big of a caper. I know its embarrassing but the rest of the guys around here understand.
Sgt. MacDonald: You know Pete, I must have made that same speech to a dozen other cops whose sons were arrested, but I guess I won't be making it again. Somehow it isn't the same when it's your own boy.

Season 5 Trivia

  • Episode 20 - Goof (revealing mistake): When Reed and the suspect exchange shots, Reed's bullet breaks the rear window in the Volkswagen. However the window breaks a second before Reed fires his weapon.
  • Episode 06 - This was Fred Stromsoe's first appearance in the role of good natured Officer Jerry Woods.
  • Episode 16 - Goof (factual errors): The landlord's missing car is described as a 1967 Chevy Nova but it's clearly a 1968-72 model.
  • Episode 21 - The title has been taken from the common expression: A fool and his money are soon parted.
  • Episode 16 - The title refers to an arrest made by a person who is not acting as a sworn law-enforcement official a practice that dates back to old England where law enforcement officers encouraged citizens to help enforce the laws of the land.
