  • The series started out as a single sketch on French & Saunders (UK), entitled "The Modern Mother and Daughter".
  • The name of Jennifer Saunders' character, Eddy Monsoon, is a play on her husband's last name, Edmondson. Adrian Edmondson previously used the name Eddy Monsoon himself for a character that appears in _"Comic Strip Presents, The" (1982)_.
  • All five of the main character's real names begin with the letter J.
  • In the episode "The Last Shout, part 1", Patsy Stone makes reference to "when I was a Bond Girl"; the actress who portrays Patsy, Joanna Lumley, actually played a Bond girl in On Her Majesty's Secret Service.
  • Jane Horrocks originally auditioned for the part of Saffron, but Jennifer Saunders adapted and expanded the role of Bubble for her instead.

The rest was filmed in a sound studio in Britain. This episode was also rated the worst episode in AbFab's history as of 2002. Episode #2.05 "Poor" was meant to air 3rd.
  • Both Edina and Patsy falling into the graves wasn't planned until the last moment. The original plan was for just Eddie to fall into her father's coffin, and Patsy fall in with her trying to pull her out.
