- After the success of The Rugrats Movie, Nick and Klasky Csupo had plans to make a movie out of this TV series. However, production of the movie was shut down due to the story being "too dark" for children. Info on what the movie was going to be about hasn't been revealed.

- Originally the Gromble's name was going to be the Womble. But the writers ended up changing the name to Gromble to avoid a lawsuit from the writers of a British TV series called "The Wombles".
- Unlike the vast majority of animated productions, the three principal voice actors (Charles Adler, Christine Cavanaugh and David Eccles) recorded their lines together in the same studio. In a Nickelodeon interview they claimed that this greatly helped their characterizations as it allowed them to play off of each other more smoothly.
