One of those sitcoms which was a ratings hit but inexplicably cancelled by NBC after only two seasons. Comedically, the first season was uneven yet showed promise. "13 East" was largely recast for season two, (retaining only Diana Bellamy, Wayne Powers, and Jan Cobler in their starring roles). For the second season, the show kept some of the softer, heartwarming elements, but shifted to an overall broader comedy style with the original characters more defined, additional cast (most notably Rosemarie Jackson), better developed relationships, and much funnier scripts. The results were often hilarious. Definitely worth a look if you can find it anywhere.
