In Apocalypse, we learn that the massive temblors have, in fact, "altered the core structure of the Earth," causing increased volcanic activity and putting most of the Western Hemisphere in peril. Seismologist Samantha Hill is at a loss to explain the latest developments. Her father is also a seismologist who now sees his controversial and widely discredited theories coming to pass.
