Wendy Crewson was raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. She attended Westwood Collegiate and was first exposed to acting when she performed in The Boy Friend in grade 10.

• Good friends with actor 'Harrison Ford (I)' (qv).
• After attending Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, where she won the Lorne Greene Award for outstanding work in the theater, she studied at The Webber Douglas Academy in London.
• Daughter Maggie was born in 1989 and son John (Jack) Branton Murphy in 1992.
• Wendy and actor husband 'Michael Murphy (I)' (qv) have two children, 'Jack Murphy (VI)' (qv) (b.1992) and 'Maggie Murphy (IV)' (qv) (b. 1989), both of whom co-starred in the movie _Sleeping Dogs Lie (1998)_ (qv) with their parents.
