BIOGRAPHY: Troy was born in West Covina, California, but before the age of twelve his family moved to Henryetta, OK. After high school he was offered a position with the New York Mets, but turned it down for college at the University of Oklahoma. Troy left the Oklahoma and transfered to UCLA, where he studied Sociology. Troy was a the number one draft pick in 1989. He is now #8 for the World Champion Dallas Cowboys. His favorite sports hero is Larry Bird and he enjoys playing golf and water sports.

- Often enjoyed eating at McDonald's in the Sallisaw, Oklahoma area, when he was younger.
- His 61.5 completion percentage is the fourth best of all time.
- Born with a mild form of clubfoot, which was corrected by wearing casts on his feet until he was 13 months old.
- When Aikman transferred to UCLA, Jimmy Johnson (then head coach of the Miami Hurricanes) tried unsuccessfully (again) to convince Aikman to transfer to Miami and play there. Aikman told Sports Illustrated why he chose not to transfer to Miami: "Didn't like the city.".
- Ranks 54th on NFL All-Time Yards Lost List (1,748).
- (24 August 2001) Welcomed first child, daughter Jordan Ashley. The baby weighed 8lbs 6oz and was born in Plano, Texas.
