BIOGRAPHY: Born to Caribbean Parents, Toy Connor, is the hot young Caribbean Actress raised in the states, giving you the best of both worlds.
Best known for her Bad Girl image and ground breaking performance as "Tyreeka Freemon", in the 3 Emmy Award-winning, HBO Series,"The Corner". A true to life drama that became the platform of Toy's groundbreaking performance and the role that introduced Toy Connor to Hollywood as one of the hottest promising young Talents.
Toy has always had a lifelong passion for Film/TV Production, which led her to finance and direct a very impressive trailer for one of her feature films, "The Hardluck Club", which has afforded her numerous opportunities in the entertainment industry. One of which was the 3 Emmy Award Winning Hbo Series, "The Corner".
Though Toy is forever passionate about being a MovieStar, she has never lost her vision or love for becoming a filmmaker. Simultaneously, she participated in the writing program at UCLA and has written 3 full feature screenplays and 2 shorts. Toy has been an incredible prolific writer since childhood.
Committed to her goal of being a Director, Toy gained the opportunity to Shadow Charles Dutton (Actor/Director) on the HBO Series "The Corner", as well as participated as Director Trainee and shot behind the scenes footage on Eriq Lasalles's first self produced and directed feature, "Crazy As Hell". To her own merit, Toy Associate Produced the independent feature film, "For the Good Times" (Bet Stars, available on Video/DVD) and Co-Produced the docudrama, "Gangstresses" (HBO, available on Video/DVD).
Dedicated to making her Producer/Director status a respected reality, Toy applied to the AFI Director's Workshop for Women the winter of 2003, and became one of the proud 18th Cycle Participants of the AFI Director's Workshop For Women, where Toy developed, wrote, produced, and directed her an incredible short film, "Playing Underground": A film about a fugitive and his girlfriend who hide out on skid-row waiting to get their new identities, when self preservation leads them on a destructive path with one way out.
