BIOGRAPHY: Tony Longo, currently 6 foot-6, weighing in at 350 + pounds,is the Big Guy from Angels in the Outfield and Flinstones Viva Las Vegas. He looks like that favorite uncle you've always wanted. He's a gentle giant and a real tough hombre rolled into one. His ever changing presence and talent as a professional actor reigns supreme. Tremendous and amazing diversity, his size and looks belie his immense talents as an actor that has played a football and baseball player, mafia sidekick, professional wrestler, enforcer, truck driver, teacher, coach, pool hustler, and construction worker. Innumerable roles in 28+ years as a Working Character Actor include over 80 films and more than 500 TV episodes. Two of his most memorable roles "Little Mike" in Eraser (1996) with the Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger and "Mad Dog" on HBO's hit comedy series "1st & Ten" (1984) with O.J. Simpson for 5 seasons.
Tony has played and created some incredibly memorable characters during his career. He can play maddeningly evil characters, sad, good, or lost soul types, heroes of every type and genre and anything in between with depth and a fitting style. He has no problem gaining or losing close to 100 pounds in less than 6 months. He is now under contract and in production filming this process for syndicated cable stations and the Internet.
He was born Anthony Longo On August 20, 1961 in Jersey City, New Jersey, moved to the suburbs to Wayne, New Jersey, graduated in 1978 and then left town to seek his fame in Hollywood. Tony has traveled so far, wide and often. His father was his best advisor helping Tony to stay with it in the in-between times early in his career.
Within a week in Hollywood, Tony landed a role of "Artie", the security guard on the hit series "Alice" (1976) and immediately after was cast in Sixteen Candles (1984), Splash (1984) and Fletch (1985). Then, Tony appeared in the "Hell Town" (1985) series with Robert Blake (I), "The Young and the Restless" (1973), FOX's "Shaky Ground" (1992), "Police Academy" (1988) TV series, and he hasn't slowed down since.
Tony's recent film and TV credits include Mulholland Dr. (2001) directed by David Lynch, "Six Feet Under" (2001), Serving Sara (2002), The Cooler (2003), completed Pizza&Bullets The Fall of Night (2007) and _Foodfight! (2007)_ with 'Hilary Duff'. Tony just finished one of the leads in the Family film "Jake's Corner" with Richard Tyson and Diane Ladd, due out winter of 2008. He plays the Town Sherrif, a big guy with a heart of gold. He feels this is the best role of his 30-year career. Tony has completed "Home Shoppin wit da Mob", a comedy pilot and Season 1 of a series of short episodes for cable, "Cause We're Family".He also has begun a recurring role on Days of Our Lives as Carmine the Bodyguard.
