Though it is often said that he was perfect for the role of Frohike in _"The X Files" (1993)_ (qv) and later _"The Lone Gunmen" (2001)_ (qv), his being cast in it was completely accidental. The producers had already seen several actors for the part but found casting it difficult. They were discussing the matter outside of a bathroom when Braidwood, who was already working as first assistant director on _"The X Files" (1993)_ (qv), emerged, and they realized he was right for the role.
