BIOGRAPHY: T.K. Carter was raised just east of Los Angeles, California. He began his stand-up routine at age 12, and, by high school, appeared in Neil Simon (I)'s production of "The Odd Couple." He began his professional stand-up routine at the Comedy Store in Los Angeles and has also worked at the Improvisation Cafe and Ye Little Club. His first role was in an episode of "Police Woman" (1974), and starred in the Los Angeles Actors Theatre's version of "Sisters." He has since appeared in such films as Space Jam (1996), A Rage in Harlem (1991) and Ski Patrol (1990).

- (30 November 1991) Arrested for car theft and Driving Under the Influence.
- Won a talent show contest in his hometown by mimicking 'Bill Cosby' (qv)'s famous Lone Ranger skit.
- Has performed his stand-up comedy routine as the opening act for such music artists as 'James Brown (I)' (qv) and 'Luther Vandross' (qv).
- Worked at Disneyland for a year.
- His first regular series role came as the genie Shabu in the ABC sitcom _"Just Our Luck" (1983)_ (qv).
- In 1998 he served as a dialogue coach for 'Chris Tucker (I)' (qv) in the film _Rush Hour (1998)_ (qv).
- Raised in California's San Gabriel Valley, he was a high school track champion.
