- 'Jimi Hendrix' (qv) played on two of the group's singles (under the name "Jimmy James"), and during 1964 was a member of the group's touring band.
- Their song "Summer Breeze" has been re-sung by Seals and Croft in 1977. Several bars from the melody of it is used as background rhythm by rap artists Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre for 1991's "G Thang".
