Stefan is well known to Canadians from his six years on the television series Degrassi Junior High and Degrassi High, which was televised in more than 50 countries.
He was a Gemini Award nominee for Best Actor at age 17 and in 2002, he was nominated for the Gemini's Hottest Star award, a people's choice award that allowed viewers to vote online for their favourite television actor.
Stefan is a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Los Angeles, where he won the prestigious Michael Thomas Award for acting excellence.
Since returning to Toronto, Stefan has been a constant face on Canadian and American television. He has made numerous television appearances, including the series Sue Thomas: F.B. Eye, Wild Card, Jonathan Cross's Canada, Twitch City, I Was A Sixth Grade Alien and The Associates.
He can also be seen in the movie Too Smooth with Neve Campbell and Rebecca Gayheart. In August 2007, Stefan appeared alongside Amanda Stepto and Miriam McDonald on the Canadian edition of Reader's Digest.
This season, Stefan also became part of the production team as Co-Creative Producer of Degrassi and continues to produce, direct and write most of the web content for both Degrassi and Instant Star.
In season seven, Stefan directed Degrassi of the Dead, a special Degrassi Halloween special and directed another one in season eight. Stefan is the director for the last four episodes of Degrassi's eighth season

- Attended Earl Haig Secondary School in Toronto, Ontario (formerly North York), the same high school as his "Degrassi: Next Generation" co-star Jake Epstein.
