Nominated for the 2008 Tony Award (New York City) for Supporting or Features Actress in a Drama for "Rock 'n' Roll".
She was awarded the 1998 London Critics Circle Theatre Award (Drama) for Best Actress for her performance in Our Lady of Sligo at the Royal National Theatre.
In 1971, before she was well-known as an actress, Cusack became notorious for her involvement with with footballer 'George Best (II)' (qv). One weekend when he failed to turn up for his club Manchester United's trip to play Chelsea in London, Cusack's North London flat became besieged by the press when they discovered that he was in fact with her.
