BIOGRAPHY:

Sheena Easton started off as a worldwide sensation in the music industry. Since then she has expanded to movies (All Dogs Go to Heaven 2 (1996), Indecent Proposal (1993)), Broadway ("Man of La Mancha") and TV (Body Bag (1997) (TV), "Highlander" (1992), "Gargoyles" (1994), "Jack's Place" (1992), "The Adventures of Brisco County Jr." (1993), "Miami Vice" (1984)). Her albums include "My Cherie" (MCA Records 1995), "No Strings" (MCA 1993), "What Comes Naturally" (MCA 1991), "The Lover in Me" (MCA 1988), and several albums on the EMI label.

TRIVIA:

Her song "9 to 5" was already a big hit in the UK, so when the song was released in America it went under the title "Morning Train" to avoid confusion with 'Dolly Parton' (qv)'s recent hit of the same name.
Earned the hits "For Your Eyes Only" (#4), "When He Shines" (#30), "You Could Have Been With Me" (#15), "Telefone (long Distance Love Affair)" (#9), "Modern Girl" (#18), "We've Got Tonight" with 'Kenny Rogers (I)' (qv) (#6), "Almost Over You" (#26), Strut (#7), "Do It For Love" (29), "Sugar Walls" (#9), "The Lover In Me" (#2), "What Comes Naturally" (#19), "U Got the Look" with Prince (#2) and "Morning Train (Nine to Five)" - her only hit to reach #1 on the Billboard Pop Charts.
Her hit song, "We've Got Tonight", with 'Kenny Rogers (I)' (qv), went to #1 on the Billboard Country Charts.
The only act to appear in the Top Five on all of Billboard magazine's main charts: Country, Pop, Hot 100, Adult Contemporary, R&B/Hip Hop, Dance Airplay, and Dance Sales.
Inspired to pursue a singing career after seeing 'Barbra Streisand' (qv) in _The Way We Were (1973)_ (qv), she later attended the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama while moonlighting with the group Something Else.
Recorded an album of disco covers, 'Fabulous', in 2000 for Universal Records for the European market. It went top 20 in Spain and Estonia.
Two adopted children: Jake (adopted in 1995) and Skylar (adopted in 1996).
She won two Grammy Awards, including one for Best New Artist in 1981.
