Shannon was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. She has appeared at theatres across the country. Off-Broadway she played Jenny in Nursery (dir. Brett W. Reynolds) and Zoe in Gorgeous Raptors (dir. Beth Milles) in the Young Playwrights Festival 2001 at the Cherry Lane Alternative space. Other New York credits include Target Margin Theater (Brūnnhilde/Erda, Valkyrie), PS-NBC/78th Street Theatre Lab (Ajax, Gemini: dir. David Kennedy), Expanded Arts(Chorus/Teiresias/Messenger, Oedipus Rex), Young Playwrights Intergenerational Play Festival (Kimberly, From the Mouths of Babes: dir. Valentina Fratti), American Globe Theatre (Wilma, A Young Lady of Property), The Heritage Theatre (Sasha, Ivanov), Anagram (Virginia, Defenestration), Millenium Stage (Lycissa, Pseudolus), and Great Egress Theatre Company (Viola, Twelfth Night).
Her television experience includes 'Haunted New York' on the Travel Channel and a voice-over for Oxygen. Shannon has done several independent films including Macbeth: The Comedy (2001), where she played the half-asleep Cockney Porter, and 'Broken Up', which can be seen online at www.TalentedYou.com. Shannon is proud to have been an NFAA ARTS Awardee as well as a Presidential Scholar in the Arts in Theatre. She also won the English-Speaking Union's National Shakespeare Recitation Competition (judged by Irene Worth) which afforded her the opportunity to be part of a study tour that spent two weeks in Stratford-upon-Avon. Shannon also won the New Jersey Chapter's National Society of Arts & Letters Acting Competition. Shannon is a member of the Yale Dramatic Association and a member of Yale's Elizabethan Club.
