BIOGRAPHY:

Sendhil Ramamurthy stars as Jai Wilcox in COVERT AFFAIRS, USA's much-anticipated, new drama series, premiering Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at 10/9c.

Ramamurthy is best known for his portrayal of Dr. Mohinder Suresh, the genetics professor whose research into those with extraordinary abilities alters his life forever on NBC's "Heroes." Most recently, he guest starred on USA Network's PSYCH alongside co-star/director/cousin, Jay Chandrasekhar.

Ramamurthy's latest feature film endeavor is a starring role in Gurinder Chadha's 'It's a Wonderful Afterlife,' which premiered at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival and opened in the U.K. in April. Earlier this year, Ramamurthy completed work in Mumbai on 'Shor,' a high energy, gritty crime-drama told from three different points of view. He plays an Indian-American trying to start a non-profit enterprise as subversive elements offering protection force him down a dark road with irreversible consequences. Written, directed and produced by U.S.-based Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, 'Shor' is an Alt Entertainment production. Other film credits include a cameo in Broken Lizard's 'The Slammin,'' 'Salmon' and 'Blind Dating' with Chris Pine.

On London's West End stages, Ramamurthy starred in The Royal Shakespeare Company production of A Servant to Two Masters directed by Tim Supple. He also starred in the New York premiere of Tom Stoppard's Indian Ink at the Soho Repertory Theatre and East is East directed by Scott Elliott, at the Manhattan Theatre Club.

Ramamurthy was a pre-med major at Tufts University in Boston before taking drama as an elective. His interest in acting led him to London, where he attended the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art whose alumni include Eva Green, Matthew Goode, Angela Lansbury and Terrence Stamp.

Ramamurthy was born in Chicago and raised in San Antonio, Texas.
