Neither he nor his father 'David Troughton' (qv) were aware that his late grandfather 'Patrick Troughton' (qv) had played the title character in _"Robin Hood" (1953)_ (qv) until he was cast as Much, Robin's trusted friend and ally, in _"Robin Hood" (2006)_ (qv).
He is the nephew of 'Michael Troughton' (qv).
