BIOGRAPHY:

Ryan Maloney is a comedian, actor, writer and producer based in New York City, originally from Manchester, Connecticut. Ryan's parents divorced when he was eight years old. His parents are all retired: his mother worked for the board of education, his father was a systems analyst for a well-known insurance company, his stepfather was a plumber and his stepmother was a teacher. Ryan attended Manchester High School and after graduating, obtained a BA in Communications from Central Connecticut State University. He debated alongside Oxford University where humor is a large part of the debate strategy and was President of the resident student body. A couple months before finishing up at the university, Ryan went to Boston and performed for the first time in a comedy club at Dick Doherty's Comedy Club. As of Fall of 2008, Ryan has been performing stand up comedy for over eleven years. He continues to perform stand up at clubs, colleges and theaters all over the East Coast. Recently, Ryan had the opportunity to perform as the opening act for popular stand up comedian, Brett Butler.

After starting his career performing in clubs throughout the Boston area, Ryan focused his efforts on making a name for himself in New York City. It wasn't long before producers at Manhattan's comedy scene mainstay, Comic Strip Live, named Ryan "Funniest New Comedian" in November of 1999. Ryan followed this honor up by auditioning for and booking over a half dozen national commercials including spots for Bud Light, AOL, EBay, AT&T, the NFL and KFC. In 2007, the film "Magic Man" was Ryan's feature length documentary producing debut. The film won the Audience Award for Best of the Festival at the Hoboken International Film Festival. Ryan has also written and produced a number of series including Comedy Central's web series titled "Crash Course in Comedy".
