Veteran character actress of the stage who came to films and TV relatively late in life.
In her 80s, she collapsed and died of a heart seizure while auditioning for a TV role.
Appeared in such stage productions as "Sticks and Bones," "The Prisoner of Second Avenue" and "Little Murders."
Made her Broadway debut in 1950 with "The Tower Beyond Tragedy."
Most familiar for playing Aunt Harriet in a series of Kraft Mayonnaise commercials during the 1980s.
