BIOGRAPHY:

Former golden gloves boxer Ron Eldard has found success on stage, television and in feature films. Fans of the NBC medical drama "ER" (1994) will remember Eldard for playing a paramedic and love interest for nurse Julianna Margulies on the show's second season. The New York native graduated from the city's prestigious High School of the Performing Arts after studying drama and made his feature film debut in Nancy Savoca's True Love (1989/I). Eldard's subsequent major film roles include that of an inner city youth coping with the consequences of a practical joke gone horribly awry in Barry Levinson (I)'s Sleepers (1996). On stage, Eldard made a name for himself appearing in the off-Broadway productions of "AveNu Boys" and "Servy 'n' Bernice 4Ever" and, in his one man show, "Standing Eight Count". His Broadway credits include Neil Simon (I)'s "Biloxi Blues" and "On the Waterfront". On television, Eldard starred in the short-lived NBC sitcom "Men Behaving Badly" (1996) and in "Bakersfield P.D." (1993). Eldard has also appeared in several made-for-television movies, including Showtime's Bastard Out of Carolina (1996) and HBO's When Trumpets Fade (1998) (TV).

Former Golden Glove boxer.
Understudied 'Matthew Broderick (I)' (qv) in the Broadway production of "Biloxi Blues" in 1986 and was unceremoniously fired by playwright 'Neil Simon (I)' (qv) during an understudy rehearsal just days before he was to take over the part.
In November of 1999, elected one of 25 performers of "Stars of the New Millenium" by members of the Talkin' Broadway All That Chat forum.
(1991-2003) Dated 'Julianna Margulies' (qv).
In 1988, he represented Gleason's Gym as a light heavyweight in the Golden Gloves Competition at Madison Square Garden, advancing to the finals and losing to 'Floyd Patterson' (qv)'s adopted son.
Was the original voice of the Caller in _Phone Booth (2002)_ (qv), but was replaced by 'Kiefer Sutherland' (qv) in re-shoots.
Was able to bench press 312 in High School.
Has brothers; older is Raymond and younger is Roger.
