Unlike most members of Queen who were not vocalists, Taylor sang on his own compositions.
Shares a birthday with fellow Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger.
Put Surrey home up for sale for estimated �6 million (2003).
He sang lead vocals on Queen's tribute song to Freddie "No-One but you (Only the Good Die Young)".
