- Became the announcer of _"New Price Is Right, The" (1972)_ in 1986 until his passing on October 27, 2003, replacing 'Johnny Olson' (qv), who passed away two months before.
- Was originally pinned as the announcer for _"Jeopardy!" (1984)_ (qv) before 'Johnny Gilbert (I)' (qv) was selected.
- Official ambassador of Chaing Mai, Thailand.
- Had colon cancer surgery in 2001.
- Had his left breast removed due to cancer in March 2003.
- Was a DJ at Buffalo's 50,000 powerhouse WKBW 1520 AM from 1963 to 1968. According to current KB DJs, his sense of dress was at least equally as notable then as it was during his career on _"New Price Is Right, The" (1972)_.
