BIOGRAPHY: Actor, comedian, composer, singer and author, originally a night-club comic and a singer for dance orchestras. He served in the US Navy and joined ASCAP in 1959. His popular-song compositions include "Like Our Love", "Lonely River" and "Quiet Place".

- Became a regular on the series _"Get Smart" (1965)_ (qv) as Hymie the robot.
- Voiced the unstable villain "Serpentor" on _"G.I. Joe" (1985)_ (qv) and the reluctant second leader of the Autobots, "Rodimus Prime", on _"Transformers" (1984)_ (qv).
