Has a B.A. in anthropology from Yale.
While attending Yale Cox was awarded fellowships to go to Japan, Bali, Samoa and Poland.
Was nominated for Broadway's 1979 Tony Award as Best Actor (Featured Role - Musical) for "Platinum."
He performed on Broadway with 'Ingrid Bergman (I)' (qv) in "Captain Brassbound's Conversion" before going to Hollywood in 1975 with the national company of "Grease".
Cox went to private schools before attending Yale and majoring in both drama and anthropology.
A native of Manhattan's Chelsea area.
Served as best man at the wedding of Yale classmate and Doonesbury cartoonist 'Garry Trudeau' (qv) and 'Jane Pauley' (qv).
