- Born in Knoxville, Tennessee. Raised in St. Louis, Missouri. At age 20 he moved to Louisville, Kentucky. When he got out of OVW, he moved back to St. Louis and still lives there.
- He is the eldest of 3 children. Younger brother and sister, Nathan and Becky Orton.
- The day after WrestleMania XXI at Monday Night RAW on April 4, 2005, he challenged the new World Heavyweight Champion, 'Dave Batista' (qv) (aka "Batista") for a title shot. During the match he further injured his shoulder and his bicep muscle was torn.
- Aunt 'Rhonda Orton' (qv), accompanied close friend 'André the Giant' (qv) during filming of _The Princess Bride (1987)_ (qv) at Lee International Studios, Shepperton, UK. There she became acquainted with 'Wallace Shawn' (qv). As fate would have it, a decade later in 1997, Rhonda, a gaming industry professional in Las Vegas, was hired to coach Shawn as a blackjack dealer for _Vegas Vacation_ (1997).
- His daughter, Alanna Marie Orton, was born on July 12, 2008 at 9:24 PM. At birth, she was 8 pounds, 10 ounces, and 22.5 inches long.
