Recently inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame for his years of work in the field of baseball writing and analysis.
Regular contributor to ESPN's "Baseball Tonight," which airs nightly during the Major League Baseball season.
Winner of the 2004 J.G. Taylor Spink Award for meritorious contributions to baseball writing. Award was presented at the 2005 induction ceremonies at the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
