National Public Radio/ Selected as NPR's 100 of the most important American musical works of the 20th century: The Kingston Trio.(2006).
He learned to play guitar from his father, who was a Navy captain.
Soon after college, he met Bob Shane, who introduced him to Dave Guard. They went on to form the Kingston Trio.
After leaving the group in 1967, Reynolds moved to Oregon to raise his family. He later reunited with Shane, and remained with the group until his retirement.
