- Currently lives in New Mexico with her two sons while her husband "commutes" between New Mexico and Las Vegas, where he works.
- Son, Buster, is from a previous marriage
- Nana is the daughter of dancers, choreographer 'Robert Tucker (I)' (qv) and ballet teacher Nenette Charisse
- Has three dogs: a hairless Chinese crested, a black & white miniature toy poodle and a black & white standard poodle (named "Helen").
- She was accepted at Princeton but kept deferring and didn't go.
- Gave birth to her son, Django El Tahir El Siddig, during the filming of the _"Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" (1993)_ (qv) episode "Let He Who Is Without Sin...". Not surprisingly, she did not appear in that episode.
- Admitted claustrophobic. Had a hard time filming the DS9 episode "Second Skin" in which her character, Kira Nerys, appeared as a Cardassian because of the full rubber makeup she had to wear. Her co-star in the episode, Andrew J. Robinson, played Elim Garak, who became claustrophobic at a young age on Cardassia.
- On October 28 1995, she received the Best Supporting Actress in a Genre Television Series honor from the the Sci-Fi Universe Readers' Choice Universe awards.
