BIOGRAPHY: Graduated with a BS from the University of Manitoba in 1945. He's the father of Tony-award winner Joanna Gleason (I), television writer/director Sharon Hall (IV), and Emmy-award winner television writer/director Richard Hall (IV). He has five grandchildren. He was awarded the Order of Canada for his charitable works for the Variety Clubs International, the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

- Monty Hall was the host/performer and narrator of two TV film shows for kids: "Cowboy Theater", which was seen on Saturday afternoons on WRCA TV Ch. 4 in NYC from Saturday September 15, 1956 to Saturday March 2, 1957; and "Fun In The Morning", seen on Saturday mornings on WNEW TV Ch. 5 in NYC from Saturday May 16, 1959 to Saturday September 25, 1959. Mr. Hall also hosted a kids TV game show: "Video Village Junior" (Kids version of The Weekday morning adults TV game show: "Video Village". Mr. Hall MC'd "Video Village Junior" with actress/singer and model, 'Eileen Barton (I)' (qv), and announcer, Kenny Williams (Ms. Barton and Mr. Williams also served as comedy relief on the show) Saturday mornings on the CBS TV Network from Saturday September 30, 1961 to Saturday June 16, 1962.
- Former Mayor of Hollywood.
- Monty's brother Robert also changed his last name from Halperin to Hall.
- 5 June 2002 - Fell and broke his hip during a visit to his doctor at L.A.'s Mt. Sinai Hospital.
- He was awarded the O.C. (Officer of the Order of Canada) on December 21, 1987 for his services to broadcasting.
- Inducted into the American TV Game Show Hall of Fame on October 13, 2007. Other inductees included 'Peter Marshall (I)' (qv), 'Wink Martindale' (qv) and 'Hugh Downs' (qv).
- "The Monty Hall problem" is the name of a classic mathematics problem dealing with probability theory, based on a scenario similar to Hall's work in _"Let's Make a Deal" (1963)_ (qv).
