- Attended the University of Michigan where she played a variety of roles including three different shows in which she played the Virgin Mary.
- Most notable role, Yitzhak in the Broadway production "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" was presented to her on a tiny slip of paper by agent in 1998. It said, "A man to be played by a woman. Surly, Jewish, Croatian. Ex-drag queen billed as Krystall Nacht, the Last Jewess of the Balkans."

- Her parents divorced when she was 7 and she alternated between living in Turin, Italy (with her mother), and suburban Detroit (with her father).
