BIOGRAPHY: The son of television producer Don Fedderson, Mike Minor was raised in San Francisco and educated at the University High School in Los Angeles and Brown Military Academy in San Diego. At 14, Mike was taking voice lessons when he got his first professional singing gig at the "Ye Little Club in Beverly Hills". Mike's early TV work began with guest appearances on such shows as "The Donald O'Connor Show" (1954) and "The Joey Bishop Show" (1961). Mike Minor is best recognized as "Steve Elliott" on "Petticoat Junction" (1963). Mike married actress Linda Henning in 1968, who co-starred on "Petticoat Junction" (1963) as "Betty Jo". The marriage lasted for five years. Mike has been on a number of TV soaps including "As the World Turns" (1956) and "All My Children" (1970), and "Another World" (1964) as "Dr. Royal Dunning". In 1999, Mike began performing on Broadway at the Duffy Theatre, starring as Inspector James Ascher in "A Perfect Crime".
TRIVIA:
- Ex-son-in-law of 'Paul Henning (I)' (qv) and 'Ruth Henning' (qv).
- An early interest in professional baseball led to an avid interest in golf in later years. He's been a member of the Hollywood Hackers, an organization of show business amateurs who travel and play golf while entertaining at the same time. Mike is a singer and has recorded two albums on the sly.
- Stepson of 'Yvonne Fedderson' (qv).
- Made his stage debut as the male romantic lead in "The Impossible Years" with 'Ozzie Nelson' (qv) and 'Harriet Hilliard' (qv) Nelson.
- In 1966, he joined the cast of _"Petticoat Junction" (1963)_ (qv) as the dashing, deep-voiced, hunky pilot Steve Elliott, who crash lands in Hooterville and is nursed back to health by the lovely countrified trio Billie Jo ('Meredith MacRae' (qv)), Betty Jo ('Linda Henning' (qv))and Bobbie Jo Bradley ('Lori Saunders (I)' (qv)). Much was made out of which daughter would eventually walk down the aisle with him. Linda's Betty Jo, the tomboy who showed the least interest, was the eventual winner. A real-life romance was set off in the process, and a year after the two characters married on the show, Mike and Linda married in real life. They divorced five years later.
- Enjoyed a nice stretch in the 80s as one of 'Susan Lucci' (qv)'s various paramours on the soap _"All My Children" (1970)_ (qv), not to mention briefer stints on other soaps, including _"Another World" (1964)_ (qv) and _"As the World Turns" (1956)_ (qv).
- Son of 'Don Fedderson' (qv)
